Project Overview
Completed in June 2016, Rise Academy – Ashland School now has a new truly state of the art multipurpose alternative infill synthetic sports field that has for the first time provided the students with a safe place to enjoy outdoor activities. The newly renovated facility contains a cork infill synthetic turf field, bleachers with beautifully landscaped garden areas all bordered with new Redi Rock retaining walls and decorative fence integrated with ball stopper netting system.
This project presented a number of unique and unexpected challenges due to its urban location, local authorities/requirements and design enhancements which were added and performed during the construction process. Much of the work was delicate in nature so as to preserve the myriad of existing underground municipal utilities. The storm water management system was designed to meet the new stringent municipal storm water regulations while tying into and working in unison with the City of Newark’ s existing storm water system.
