Project Overview
The LandTek Group recently completed construction of the Philadelphia Union SportsPlex, home of the professional soccer team, Philadelphia Union. This cutting-edge sports complex boasts four natural turf fields and three synthetic turf fields, spanning over 600,000 square feet. Sitting adjacent to the 18,500 seat Major League Soccer stadium, Subaru Park, the SportsPlex offers 278,423 square feet of synthetic turf, ensuring playability throughout the year.

In addition to Major League Soccer teams, children’s leagues, youth leagues, and adult leagues all utilize the field throughout the year. LandTek utilized their unique expertise and experience in professional soccer field construction to meticulously craft the SportsPlex’s seven fields. With a keen understanding of the specific requirements of soccer facilities, each field was carefully designed and executed, reflecting LandTek’s commitment to excellence and their reputation as leaders in sports facility construction.
Construction of the three synthetic fields included stone base construction, drainage, laser grading, and the installation of the shock pad and cork infilled synthetic turf. Similarly, construction of the four natural grass fields included stone base construction, drainage, root zone installation, sod installation & establishment, soil amendments, laser grading, and irrigation systems and booster pumps
Philadelphia Union is part of Subaru Park, which has been recognized on multiple occasions, winning awards from Mid Atlantic Construction Magazine for “Best Sports/Recreation Project of the Year,” the Delaware County Planning Commission for outstanding land projects in the County and the NCS4 Facility Achievement Award that honors venues that excel in safety and security operations. The LandTek Group is honored to be a part of enhancing such an acclaimed stadium with the addition of the SportsPlex.
